A truly unique setting for enjoying the Dartmoor National Park.
West Stoke is a family run working hill farm on Dartmoor near the village of Holne.
We have a herd of South Devon cows, a flock of traditional sheep which roam free on Holne Moor plus horses, dogs, chickens and 2 children!.
We are a friendly bunch and only happy to help.
We truly hope you enjoy staying with us and exploring the beautiful countryside.
West Stoke Farm is approximately 1 mile from the delightful moorland village of Holne which has a pub, a village shop with tea rooms and lots to explore.
Our designated campsite, ‘Susie’s Field’, is located on the unclassified road at SX694703 between Holne village and Venford Reservoir. Caravans, camper vans and tents are all welcome.
Caravans may need to approach from Buckfastleigh rather than Ashburton as there are length & weight restrictions on Holne Bridge if approaching from the East and Huccaby Bridge if approaching from the West. Our facilities are basic but adequate in this truly moorland setting.
There are approx 450 miles of public rights of way. On the open moor, you can choose your own walking route and don’t have to stick to footpaths if you would prefer to roam more freely. Dartmoor National Park has approx 182 square miles of unenclosed common land and open country that are free to roam.
Around the size of 18,000 football pitches .. WOW !. Lots to explore, don't forget your walking boots and camera !.
This living, breathing, working landscape is home to stunning rare butterlies and birds, tors and not forgetting the ponies. Dartmoor has it all.
Over 160 tors are ready to explore, how many will you mark off your list on this visit?. Each tor is unique, some of the most popular tors are Bowerman’s Nose, Hound Tor, Great Links Tor, Yes Tor, Pew Tor, Haytor.
Dartmoor National Park has 2,800 listed buildings across its landscape plus 1,078 scheduled monuments. Dartmoor has the largest number of archaeological remains in Europe.
